ASU’s enterprise chatbot solution

Sunny Chatbot

Revolutionizing the ASU digital service experience

Sunny is an enterprise chatbot system that can quickly and efficiently share information and resources with ASU students. With the help of innovative technology, Sunny is a digital student support companion, automating aspects of service, while enabling efficiency and capacity for staff to provide exceptional attention and guidance.

This approach to student (and staff) support is setting the standard for excellence in student engagement, educational technology and digital transformation.

How it works

Supported by Enterprise Technology and Student Success Innovations (SSI), this artificial intelligence-driven software complements human interactions by providing quicker answers and shorter wait times to best support individuals across the ASU Enterprise.

Smart and centralized knowledge base

Central to the efficacy and unity of this ecosystem is the custom-built Content Management System (CMS), or digital brain, where all Sunny’s knowledge and capabilities are meticulously crafted and maintained. This powerful platform ensures that every interaction with Sunny, regardless of the medium, is informed by the same up-to-date, accurate and responsive information.

Compassionate human support

ASU has a team of staff answering questions that Sunny has difficulty understanding. Some student messages require human empathy and professional judgment. While Sunny is quick to answer common questions, staff prioritize student responses that require follow-up by text message, email or live web chat.

Seamless student experience

ASU’s Sunny chatbot provides 24/7 service and connection to students through their preferred communication channels. Sunny offers students unmatched support by swiftly answering their inquiries or connecting them with individuals in the ASU Enterprise who can best do so.
